Bluebird Motel

The rooms are standard. The lady/manager at front was nice, but not personable which is not a big deal. The bathroom was rusting around the drain. The walls are not that think, which is a blessing. The air conditioner is in working condition. The location is easily accessible. Double locked doors, which is safe. Basically a good place for a cheap price.

Ignore the negative reviews! My stay at the Bluebird Motel was excellent. The room was spotless, the bedding was fresh and clean, and the bathroom was exceptionally clean—better than any motel I’ve stayed at before. I didn’t have any issues with noise—actually, the white noise from the AC completely blocked out any sounds from the nearby highway, making it easy to relax and sleep peacefully. You really get great value for your money here. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. Plus, it’s in a great location, close to lots of things to do in Nanaimo. I’d stay here again without hesitation!

Great location, pet friendly rooms, and a decent walking path behind it. Our room was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Our only complaint was the shower, the water would suddenly go either very cold or scaldingly hot without warning. We each had one shower (5 of us) during our 2 night stay and opted to wait for our next motel to take another one.

Stayed here last night and was not disappointed. We stayed in room #47, it certainly did not smell like smoke, actually it rather smelled like soap. Lady at reception was alright too, maybe not overly friendly, but definitely not rude. It had decent toiletries and the towels and sheets were clean. The AC was kind of loud, the window had no screen (it did have a lock though), and although there was a coffee maker I didn't see any coffee. Overall I would recommend staying here if you're just in need of a place to crash and looking to do so on a bit of a budget.

We just stayed here for 3 days for our yearly girls trip! We had a two bed room plus kitchenette. It was big enough for us three ladies. All the staff were super friendly and the price fit our budgets. Our room was nice and clean. Highly recommend

I was quite pleased with my room. #44. This is a beautiful old Motel. I loved the bathroom upgrades great job. My bed was comfy and I loved the bedding! Great quality. Front desk was great checking me in. I asked about safety and was shown the great security cameras around the property. My small dog finally got to relax and if my dogs happy, I'm happy

Bathroom was clean and front desk/housekeeping are really nice. Rooms are dated and basically could be cleaner especially bleaching the sheets. All in all it was a warm comfortable cheap hotel. It would be two stars if not for the clean updated washroom and pleasant staff.

First time ever to stay in a motel as the hotels were all so busy and sold out and over priced. #pricegouging over long weekend. Anyway this little place proved to be pleasant as could be expected. Some stand outs were the service provided by duty manager Ron was just great and housekeeper Cora was so pleasant, efficient and committed to her work and room cleaning. Some signs of aging with bath enamel coming off and frames coming apart but I guess it as well maintained as could be expected. Served our needs as we were not really in room much due to various commitments. But it’s a safe and generally comfortable stay if needed. They also missed the booger on bathroom wall.
